Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Gani Mollah

Prof. Dr. Md. Abdul Gani Mollah is a distinguished orthopaedic surgeon, academic, and administrator who has played a pivotal role in the development of trauma and orthopaedic care in Bangladesh. With over three decades of service in the medical field, he is widely recognized for his leadership as the Director (Retired) and Professor at the National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR), the premier institution for orthopaedic care in the country.

A leader in his community, Prof. Mollah served as the President of the Bangladesh Orthopaedic Society, where he guided national initiatives to improve surgical standards and patient outcomes. Currently, he continues his clinical practice at the Trauma Center & AO Orthopaedic Hospital Ltd in Dhaka, providing specialized care in traumatology and orthopaedics.

Academic Journey Prof. Mollah’s medical journey began with an MBBS from Sher-e-Bangla Medical College in 1985. He officially joined the medical service in 1986, dedicating his career to public health. He specialized further by obtaining a Diploma in Orthopaedics from NITOR in 1999 and achieved a Ph.D. from Edward University, USA, in 2004.

He is a registered professional with the Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BMDC Reg No: A-15236).
